NOTES ON CIRCUIT du SWINE
Circuit du Swine was created for the Seattle, WA, Pike Place Market Foundation Pigs on Parade charitable fundraising project. Artists were selected to create unique Pig interpretations to be placed at high traffic areas in the Pike Place Market and downtown Seattle.
Circuit du Swine was displayed on the plaza of the Federal Building. At the end of the season, the Pigs were auctioned to benefit the Foundation, which raises funds for preservation of the historic Pike Place Market, an attraction to visitors from around the world. Circuit du Swine was purchased by a Seattle Technical School, where she is the "pet" welcoming visitors and students at the school entryway.
For the Pigs on Parade project, the Foundation provided fiberglass pigs weighing about 60 pounds each. Dimensions of Circuit du Swine are 52"x44"x68". Circuit du Swine was completely covered with photo reproductions of actual circuit boards, and sealed with a weatherproof gloss coating. |
